Challenging the myth of emotionless mathematics.

Over the past decade, I've been grounding my teaching in re-Visioning mathematics from the perspective of wholeness. The symbolic, graphical, and numerical exist in symbiotic relationship. We deepen understanding when we explicitly demonstrate mathematical relationships through all three lenses, and through explicit truth evaluation based on the core relations of belonging and equality.

As humans, we tend to celebrate at finish lines when trophies are lifted. The road of mathematics learning is long. Beyond assessment, we need acknowledgment of learning. I use mathematics to explicitly teach students when they are learning, I call it "the learning plane."

Through re-Vision Math, I ground pedagogy in mathematics' core truths: Belonging and Equality. The language of mathematics demonstrates that learning flourishes through diverse perspectives, embracing uncertainty as truth.

My core conviction: mathematics is the foundational language for understanding equality, belonging, and relationships, not just a language for discussing itself. By refusing to treat mathematical vocabulary as abstraction, the mathematical definitions of equality and belonging apply to all human relationships, serving as blueprints for justice and inclusion in social systems.
